- [Advancing Reproductive Justice in Africa: DGH and AHAKI Align Strategy and Technical Evidence](https://dumaic.org/advancing-reproductive-justice-in-africa-dgh-and-ahaki-align-strategy-and-technical-evidence/): Dumaic Global Health (DGH) and Afya Na Haki (AHAKI) convened at Nagalaale country house for an ideation workshop that was aimed at aligning technical work with strategic litigation goals under the Litigating Reproductive Justice in Africa (LiRA) program. The program is AHAKI’s flagship initiative designed to shift the regional narrative from reproductive choice to reproductive justice. Operating across ten African nations- Benin, Ivory coast, Kenya, Madagascar, Malawi, Nigeria, Senegal, South Africa, Uganda and Zimbabwe, the program utilizes strategic litigation to secure essential health rights. - [Resilience Action Network Africa(RANA) Working Group Meeting](https://dumaic.org/resilience-action-network-africarana-working-group-meeting/): Our colleague Gloria Imodia participated in the RANA working group meeting held on 20/11/2025. Key to note from the meeting was the need for all members to actively participate in stakeholder mapping by recommending new strategic partners that will enhance the network’s reach and collaborative impact. Priorities were set for the year 2026 that will enable the success and growth of the network.
- [Report Writing Workshop on Biobanking: A Collaborative Effort](https://dumaic.org/3818-2/): Dumaic staff Dr. Denis Kibira and Gloria Imodia joined the teams from African Population and Health Research Center(APHRC), Africa Center for Applied Digital Health(CADH) and Uganda Healthcare Federation(UHF) in a report writing workshop for the landscaping study on biobanking in Uganda and Kenya.

- [AUDA-NEPAD stakeholder meeting on the 24 Medical Products for Regional Manufacture in Africa Initiative.](https://dumaic.org/auda-nepad-stakeholder-meeting-on-the-24-medical-products-for-regional-manufacture-in-africa-initiative/): Our colleagues Dr. Denis Kibira and Zalwango Ziada attended the final 2024 stakeholder engagement meeting on the 24 medical products for regional manufacturing in Africa initiative held in Dakar, Senegal on the 17th to 18th December 2024. The main objective was to introduce this initiative and its alignment with regional health needs to build consensus and gain stakeholder support. It was also used as an opportunity to present the roadmap for implementing the initiative, identifying gaps and incorporate stakeholder insights to ensure practical and achievable milestones. - [Memento 2024 award ceremony in Berlin.](https://dumaic.org/memento-2024-award-ceremony-in-berlin/): Memento Preis is an alliance that includes MSF German, BukoPharma Kampagne, DAHW- German Leprosy and Tuberculosis Aid and Bread for the World, whose main aim is to draw attention to neglected diseases that have little investment in their research and development. Since 2014 it has been awarded for special commitment to combating neglected diseases in the categories of Research and Development, Political Will, and Journalism. This year’s Memento 2024 award ceremony took place on November 13, 2024 in Berlin, Germany. - [National level multi stakeholder dialogue on Intellectual property rights and Access to medicines.](https://dumaic.org/national-level-multi-stakeholder-dialogue-on-intellectual-property-rights-and-access-to-medicines/): We participated in the National level multi stakeholder dialogue on Intellectual property rights and Access to medicines organized by CEHURD Uganda in partnership with KELIN Kenya with funding from ITPC Global. This discussion highlighted barriers to accessing medicines due to intellectual property, a summary of market intelligence study on HIV, TB, HCV and cervical cancer commodities in Uganda. We explored current challenges and opportunities in providing these medicines.
- [Developing a roadmap for regional manufacturing in Africa.](https://dumaic.org/developing-health-products-for-local-manufacturing-in-africa/): The dumaic team took part in the technical consultation meeting held in Dakar, Senegal on the 24 health products for local manufacturing initiative, aiming to reduce Africa’s reliance on imported pharmaceuticals and strengthen local production.
- [Developing medical countermeasure strategies for ministries](https://dumaic.org/developing-medical-countermeasure-strategies-for-ministries/): Our Dumaic team collaborated with the Ministry of Health Uganda, Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries, Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife, and Antiquities, Ministry of Water and Environment, and MSH-USAID/SSCA teams as part of the medical countermeasures plan implementation strategies for the ministries in the One health platform.

- [Multistakeholder Coordination Meeting on Pharmaceutical manufacturing.](https://dumaic.org/a-national-meeting-was-held-on-28th-november-2023-at-golf-course-hotel/): A national meeting was held on 28th November 2023 at Golf Course Hotel to discuss ways to improve multistakeholder coordination of pharmaceutical manufacturing in Uganda. At the meeting, the Ministry of Health acknowledged that although pharmaceutical manufacturing was a major priority area for the Ministry (with Priority area 8 of National Pharmaceutical Services Strategic Plan IV), little had been done. The National Planning Authority pledged to spearhead creation of an inter-ministerial taskforce to spearhead the discussion. WHO also pledged to support coordination efforts where needed.

- [The Snakebite Community Engagement Network](https://dumaic.org/snakebite-community-engagement-network/): In 2019, a WHO-led global, strategic plan for control and prevention of snakebite, the so-called ‘Snakebite Roadmap‘, was presented at the 72nd World Health Assembly. This strategy commits to engaging communities as they play a vital role in prevention, community education, and effective first response. The overall objective of the Network is to contribute to WHO’s 2030 snakebite targets by strengthening the capacity of community experts to undertake coordinated responses that reduce snakebite deaths and disabilities around the world.
